We are recruiting a Pastoral Mentor to support pupils within a large secondary school in Northumberland. This role focuses on behaviour, attendance, emotional regulation, and engagement, working closely with the school’s pastoral and safeguarding teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in pastoral care, youth work, social care, or behaviour support.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group pastoral support
- Support pupils with SEMH, behaviour, and attendance needs
- Help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
- Liaise with teachers, pastoral leads, and SEN staff
- Contribute to a safe and supportive school environment
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in pastoral, youth work, education, or care settings
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- A calm, resilient, and consistent approach
- Confidence in working with vulnerable young people
- Openness to short-term or long-term placements
