SEMH Teaching Assistant Required in Harrow
Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Harrow area.
This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional behavioural, emotional, and academic support. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Support students in managing their emotions and behaviour positively
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Experience in education, youth work, care, support work, or similar backgrounds is welcomed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
