What you’ll be doing:

  • Teaching Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach your specialist area, such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering or Food Technology.
  • Delivering engaging, well-planned lessons that encourage creativity, practical skills and innovative thinking.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive classroom and workshop environment where every student feels confident to design, make and achieve.
  • Assessing progress, providing meaningful feedback and helping pupils develop valuable technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to the wider life of the school.

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology within a secondary school.
  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people develop practical skills, creativity and confidence.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
