We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Early Years Assistant to join a welcoming and nurturing early years setting in Grays.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the most important stages of their development. Working alongside experienced practitioners, you will help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive.

The Role

As an Early Years Assistant, you will:

  • Support children aged 0–4 years with their learning and development.
  • Assist in delivering engaging activities that promote learning through play.
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Support daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, and outdoor play.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress, reporting observations to senior staff.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

What You'll Need

  • Previous experience working with children within a nursery, preschool, childcare, or school setting.
  • A warm, patient, and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's early development.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and a proactive attitude.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
