Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistants to work in a state‑of‑the‑art special needs school in Grays to start in September. This inclusive school offers teaching assistants the chance to work with all ages such as early years, primary and secondary students and will provide training throughout the role. Individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages and are passionate about making a positive impact in students' learning and development are encouraged to apply. No experience is required, but commitment, passion and dedication are key attributes the school is looking for.

As a teaching assistant you will be working in small class sizes of 6‑8 students per class with special needs that include autism, speech and language difficulties and complex needs. You will support students with their set curriculum, tailor teaching to meet their needs, develop speech & language skills, teach vocabulary and comprehension through visual resources, and support students in core subjects such as numeracy and literacy as well as assist in creative lessons such as art, music, swimming, cooking, K9 therapy and sensory play.

Responsibilities
  • Monday to Friday
  • A year long role, offering flexibility
  • Working with special needs such as autism, speech & language and learning difficulties
  • Working with students in a set class of 6‑8 students per class
  • Developing students' communication and social awareness
  • Opportunity to develop students' learning on a one-to-one basis
  • Assisting in key subjects such as tailored numeracy & literacy
  • Supporting students in creative lessons such as art, music, swimming and cooking
