We’re looking for graduates to step into a Graduate Teaching Assistant role in Gateshead, supporting children in primary schools. This role is perfect if you’re considering teaching, educational psychology, or working with children long-term. It gives you real, hands-on experience, not just theory.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Contract: Term-time only, school holidays off
What your day will look like:
- Starting the morning by welcoming pupils and helping them settle
- Supporting lessons across subjects, from phonics to maths
- Working 1:1 with children who need extra support
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and confident
- Supporting behaviour in a calm, positive way
- Building relationships that help children feel safe and understood
What we’re looking for:
- Graduates in Psychology, Education, Sociology, or similar
- Confident communicators who can build rapport quickly
- Patient, empathetic, and positive individuals
