Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in Hillingdon

Are you a recent graduate passionate about education and eager to gain hands-on classroom experience in a primary school? I am working with several excellent primary schools across Hillingdon who are looking for confident and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering a future career in teaching, SEN support, educational psychology or child development and wanting meaningful, real-world classroom experience before taking the next step.

About the Role

  • Supporting pupils in class across a range of year groups
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to improve reading, writing, maths and confidence
  • Supporting pupils with SEND including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs and SEMH
  • Assisting teachers with classroom routines, resources and behaviour support
  • Encouraging positive learning attitudes, independence and engagement
  • Supporting phonics, early reading and small intervention groups

What I Am Looking For

  • A graduate with a degree in education, psychology, English, maths, science, social sciences or a related field
  • Previous experience working with children is mandatory
  • Someone enthusiastic, proactive and keen to learn
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach, especially when supporting SEND pupils
  • A genuine long-term interest in working with children or education
  • Experience in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work or school settings is highly desirable
