Academic Mentor for mainstream secondary community school students aged 11-16 years. The school is a thriving, vibrant and caring learning community within which pupils are stretched intellectually and foster a love of learning, whilst feeling valued, happy and safe.
Tutor expectations of all pupils are high, and our school has a reputation for being a happy, friendly, stimulating and caring environment in which everyone is given the opportunity and support to complete their studies successfully and to reach their full potential.
Roles & responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored programmes which complement ongoing class work, learning objectives and assessment plans along with the class teacher.
- Working 1-1 or in small groups with students who are falling behind academically to ensure they achieve in upcoming exams.
- Adapting the content, style, format of the tuition to ensure the most effective results are achieved.
- Building strong relationships with pupils and school contacts through session delivery, review meetings, tuition progress reports and feedback.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
