A specialist provision in Gateshead is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September. You’ll play a vital role in helping deaf and hearing‑impaired pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop meaningful relationships and grow in confidence throughout their educational journey.
Day‑to‑day duties:
- Supporting pupils in lessons and around the school environment
- Communicating using British Sign Language
- Helping pupils access learning activities and resources
- Building positive relationships and encouraging independence
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and social development
- Working closely with teaching and specialist support staff
