We're looking for compassionate and committed

SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in our welcoming Gateshead primary school from September.

You'll play a key role in helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive learning environment.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other additional needs.
  • Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children's development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
