BSL Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Gateshead School
Protocol Education is working alongside a supportive school in Gateshead to recruit a full-time BSL Level 2 Teaching Assistant for a September start.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring pupils with hearing impairments can access learning, communicate effectively and thrive within the school environment.
Responsibilities
- Using British Sign Language to support pupil communication
- Assisting pupils within classroom settings
- Supporting learning activities and curriculum access
- Encouraging independence and positive peer interactions
- Helping pupils achieve personal and academic goals
- Working collaboratively with school staff and families
Requirements
- Level 2 BSL qualification
- Previous experience in education, care or support settings preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Patient, nurturing and flexible approach
- Full driving licence and ability to travel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
