We’re looking for a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist school in Gateshead. You’ll be working 1:1 with students who need consistency, structure, and someone firmly in their corner.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting pupils with EHCPs through tailored, day‑to‑day learning support
- Helping children and young people reconnect with education
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and communication needs
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to create calm, positive routines
About the pupils:
You’ll support a mix of primary and secondary‑aged students with needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech & language difficulties. Many of these pupils have struggled in mainstream settings and thrive with patient, consistent support.
