OT Graduate Wanted! | Make a Difference in a SEND School | Ferryhill
Location: Ferryhill
Job Type: Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £92.63–£108 per day, dependent on experience
You've got the degree. Now it's time to use it.
Just graduated in Occupational Therapy and wondering what's next?
How about a role where you can take what you've learned at university and use it to make a difference every single day?
Protocol Education are recruiting for an Occupational Therapy Graduate to join a school in Ferryhill, supporting children with SEND.
You'll be part of a supportive school environment where you'll help pupils develop their confidence, independence and practical skills — while gaining valuable experience that can support your future OT career.
Your day could include...
- Supporting children with autism, ADHD and sensory processing needs
- Helping pupils develop fine motor skills and coordination
- Using sensory activities and strategies to help pupils regulate
- Encouraging children to become more independent in everyday classroom activities
- Supporting pupils with physical and additional needs
- Working alongside teachers and SEND professionals
- Adapting activities to suit individual children's needs
- Celebrating the small wins — because sometimes they're the biggest ones!
What we’re looking for
You don't need years of experience. We're particularly interested in graduates who are:
- Qualified in Occupational Therapy or graduating this year
- Passionate about working with children
- Patient, understanding and approachable
- Creative when it comes to problem-solving
- Confident working as part of a wider team
- Keen to learn and develop their skills within a school environment
Previous experience with children is a bonus, but it's not essential. Your degree, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are what matter.
What's in it for you?
This isn't just another graduate role.
You'll gain:
Real SEND experience – Build your understanding of how children's needs are supported within an education setting.
Practical experience – Put your OT knowledge into practice rather than leaving it in your university notes!
Professional development – Work alongside experienced teachers and SEND professionals.
Career-building experience – Develop skills that can strengthen your future applications and career within Occupational Therapy or education.
