We're looking for a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support an autistic pupil within a specialist SEND environment in Ferryhill.
This is a relationship-led role where your consistency and understanding will be hugely important. You'll work alongside teachers and SEND professionals to provide tailored support throughout the school day.
The Role at a Glance
You will be responsible for:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support.
- Helping the pupil engage with lessons.
- Supporting classroom routines and transitions.
- Encouraging communication.
- Supporting sensory and emotional needs.
- Helping the pupil develop social skills.
- Encouraging positive interactions with peers.
- Promoting independence.
- Supporting positive behaviour.
- Providing reassurance when needed.
- Supporting the pupil at break and lunchtime.
- Following personalised strategies.
- Keeping staff informed of relevant observations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
