Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant – Newcastle

We’re looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, community-focused school in Newcastle this September.

This is a school where inclusion, respect, and high expectations are at the heart of everything they do. Supporting pupils across all Key Stages (KS1–KS4), the team works hard to create a safe, nurturing environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their potential.

Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Providing targeted support for pupils with special educational needs, including learning, communication, and emotional regulation
  • Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions
  • Assisting teachers with inclusive learning strategies across different age groups
  • Helping pupils build confidence, independence, and positive relationships

  • Has strong experience working with SEND across a range of age groups
  • Brings a calm, patient approach and genuine passion for making a difference
  • Is confident supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including SEMH and communication difficulties
  • Can commit to a full-time role from September
