We're working with a welcoming primary school in Benwell looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to join their dedicated SEND Hub this September. The Hub supports a small group of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) as their primary need, alongside pupils with Global Developmental Delay. The school has created a nurturing, structured environment where children can access personalised learning and specialist support, helping them build confidence, independence, and positive relationships. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who understands that progress looks different for every child and enjoys adapting learning to help pupils thrive.
The Role
- Deliver engaging, highly personalised learning tailored to individual needs
- Support pupils with ASC and Global Developmental Delay
- Create a calm, structured, and communication-friendly learning environment
- Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, families, and external professionals
- Use a range of strategies to support communication, social development, and emotional regulation
- Monitor progress and celebrate every success, big or small
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly ASC
- Understands the importance of routine, consistency, and relationship-based practice
- Can adapt lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Builds positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Is patient, creative, and committed to inclusive education
