SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Support) Inclusion Hub – Mainstream Primary School, Chelmsford
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Chelmsford, working within their Inclusion Hub. This full-time role focuses on supporting pupils with Autonomy Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them to access learning and thrive within a structured and nurturing environment.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD
- Work within the school’s Inclusion Hub, supporting tailored learning programmes
- Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning plans
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development
- Support pupils in transitioning between the hub and mainstream classrooms where appropriate
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEN, particularly ASD, is highly desirable
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of inclusive practice within a mainstream setting
- Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
