We are seeking a dedicated, dynamic and adaptable Food Technology Teacher to join our specialist education team, delivering high-quality teaching and learning to children and young people with a range of SEND needs, including experiences of trauma and adversity. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
Start Date: Official start date: 1st September 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to commence from 1st July 2026 to complete a handover with the current postholder.
About the Role
- Deliver high-quality, personalised Food Technology teaching to support pupils in achieving progress from their individual starting points.
- Plan, assess and report on pupil progress within a collaborative and supportive team.
- Create engaging, inclusive learning experiences tailored to pupils with SEND.
- Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and personal development through trauma-informed practice.
- Take an active role in safeguarding and pastoral support.
- Act as a Form Tutor, building positive relationships with pupils and families.

This role is subject to satisfactory safeguarding and pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment practices. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
