We’re working with welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Waltham Forest who are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This role is all about consistency, patience and building trust, supporting a pupil with additional needs to feel safe, understood and ready to learn each day. You’ll play a key role in their school experience, providing individualised support that helps them navigate the classroom, regulate emotions and grow in confidence. You’ll work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support, adapt learning where needed, and create a calm, nurturing environment where your pupil can thrive. What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN throughout the school day
  • Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs, including EHCP targets
  • Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in lessons
  • Using strategies such as visual aids, routines and positive reinforcement
  • Building a strong, trusting relationship to support the pupil’s confidence and independence
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
