We are working closely with inclusive and forward-thinking secondary schools in Hackney that are seeking passionate and committed English Teachers to join their teams on a supply basis. These schools place a strong emphasis on literacy, critical thinking, and student voice, offering well-resourced classrooms, supportive leadership, and a collaborative teaching culture. What you’ll be doing:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3–4
- Supporting students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills
- Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation
- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all students
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning, and achievement
- Contributing to whole‑school goals and a collaborative staff culture
You’ll need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English education
- Experience planning, delivering, and marking lessons at secondary level
- A sound understanding of the UK secondary curriculum
- Confident classroom management and strong communication skills
- A proactive, reflective approach and commitment to professional development
