Are you driven to support young people who are struggling to stay engaged in education? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of pupils at risk of exclusion?

We are looking for a committed Engagement Coach to deliver a 12-week Restorative Re-Engagement Programme at our Hayes site, supporting secondary-aged pupils to rebuild confidence, improve behaviour, and successfully return to mainstream school.

About the Role

Based in Hayes, you will work with small cohorts (up to 6 pupils) who may be at risk of permanent exclusion, frequently suspended, or disengaged from education. You'll provide structured, consistent support through a combination of mentoring, behaviour intervention, and practical learning.

This is a part-time role, 5 hours per day, working either:

  • 9:30am - 2:00pm, or
  • 10:30am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver restorative behaviour interventions in a small group setting
  • Support pupils to re-engage with learning and improve attendance
  • Help develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
  • Facilitate vocational and hands-on learning activities
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Liaise with referring schools to support reintegration
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and outcomes

  • Experience working with young people with behavioural, SEMH, or additional needs
  • Background in mentoring, youth work, education, or alternative provision
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a calm, restorative way
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Resilience, empathy, and a proactive mindset

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
