Every child learns differently. That's where you come in. Some children need a little extra encouragement. Others need someone who understands that success isn't always measured by perfect handwriting or sitting still for an hour. If you're patient, positive and love seeing those little lightbulb moments, we've got a role with your name on it. We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Colchester. No two days are the same, and that's exactly what makes this role so rewarding.

You could be:

  • Supporting a pupil 1:1 to help them thrive in the classroom
  • Working within the school's specialist provision alongside experienced staff
  • Leading small group interventions to build confidence and independence
  • Celebrating every achievement, big or small (because they all matter)

What you'll be doing:

Every day brings something different, but your role will always centre around helping children feel safe, supported and ready to learn. You'll work closely with teachers, SEND professionals and families to create positive learning experiences that help every child reach their potential. There'll be challenges, of course. But there'll also be high-fives, proud smiles, breakthrough moments and the kind of job satisfaction that's hard to beat.

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working with children, particularly those with SEND, or are keen to start your journey
  • Are calm, patient and full of encouragement
  • Enjoy building positive relationships with children
  • Can think on your feet and adapt to different situations
  • Want to make a genuine difference every single day

Why choose Protocol Education?

  • Weekly PAYE pay, no umbrella companies
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy
  • A dedicated consultant who'll support you from day one
  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND and specialist provisions
  • Long-term placements in local schools
  • Simple registration and local work
  • Referral scheme with rewards for recommending friends
