We are recruiting a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide full‑time 1:1 support for a child with Autism (ASD) in a mainstream primary school in Colchester, starting in September. This is a rewarding long‑term opportunity for an LSA who is confident supporting children with ASD and is passionate about helping pupils feel safe, supported, and able to access learning.
The Role:
- Full‑time 1:1 support for a child with ASD
- Working within a mainstream primary classroom
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning
- Implementing strategies to support sensory needs and behaviour
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Promoting independence and positive relationships throughout the school day

- Have experience supporting children with ASD, ideally in a primary setting
- Be confident working 1:1 with children with additional needs
- Use a calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Have knowledge of behaviour support strategies and visual structures
