Teaching Assistant Required - Severe Special Educational Needs & Disabilities in Cheam

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Cheam. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with complex needs, helping them develop essential communication, learning, and independence skills in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Role

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties.
  • Support students with a range of needs including PMLD, SLD, Autism, physical disabilities, and complex medical needs.
  • Assist with sensory learning activities and personalised education programmes.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Encourage independence, communication, and social development.
  • Work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver exceptional care and educational support.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with severe special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Is patient, caring, and resilient.
  • Has a strong understanding of complex learning needs and sensory support strategies.
  • Is confident supporting pupils with communication difficulties and additional physical needs.
  • Has excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Is committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
