Fancy a role where you’re the reason students get a proper hot meal (and maybe the highlight of their day)? We’re working with a friendly secondary school in Islington looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join their team. It’s a busy kitchen, plenty of energy, and a team that genuinely looks out for each other.

If you like staying active, enjoy being part of a team, and don’t mind the lunchtime rush, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the preparation of meals and snacks
  • Serving food to students and staff with a friendly face
  • Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy, and running smoothly
  • Helping with deliveries and stock organisation
  • Making sure food hygiene standards are spot on

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone reliable, hands-on, and happy to get stuck in
  • A team player who brings a positive attitude to busy days
  • Previous kitchen or catering experience is great, but not essential
  • A basic understanding of food hygiene (we can help with training if needed)

Why this role?

  • A welcoming school environment where everyone pitches in
  • Consistent hours, no late nights
  • A chance to be part of the school community, not just behind the scenes
  • Ongoing support from a friendly consultant who actually listens

The Protocol Education perks:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella faff
  • FREE access to our CPD Academy
  • Your own dedicated consultant, on hand when you need them
  • Opportunities in schools that value support staff

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.
