Are you a reliable and proactive individual with a hands-on approach to work? Protocol Education is recruiting on behalf of Harris Academy South Kenton for a dedicated Caretaker to join their site team.
About the Role
As a Caretaker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the school is safe, secure, and well-maintained. You will be responsible for the upkeep of the premises, supporting the day-to-day running of the school, and helping to create a positive environment for staff, students, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out general maintenance, minor repairs, and DIY tasks around the school site
- Ensuring the security of the premises, including opening/locking up and alarm systems
- Monitoring and maintaining health & safety standards across the site
- Supporting cleaning and grounds maintenance duties when needed
- Assisting with the set-up of classrooms, assemblies, and school events
- Managing deliveries and ensuring supplies are stored appropriately
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical, proactive, and able to use their initiative
- Reliable with strong attention to detail
- Knowledgeable about health & safety procedures (training can be provided)
- Able to communicate effectively with staff, pupils, and contractors
- Experienced in a similar caretaker or facilities role (desirable but not essential)
