The Role

They are seeking a confident, motivated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor / HLTA to join the team. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting teaching and learning across the school and providing high-quality cover during teacher absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
  • Support pupils’ learning in whole‑class, group and one‑to‑one settings
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
  • Assist with planning, preparation and assessment under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Support pupils with additional needs, ensuring inclusion and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and senior leaders
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • HLTA status or relevant experience as a Cover Supervisor (essential)
  • Experience working within a primary school setting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
