Are you a Teaching Assistant with strong British Sign Language (BSL) skills and a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are currently working with a specialist SEN school in Upminster that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them develop their communication, independence, confidence, and learning skills. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised support and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
The school is ideally looking for someone with a strong level of British Sign Language (BSL) knowledge, preferably Level 2 or above, who feels confident using BSL to support communication and engagement with pupils.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Have confident BSL skills (Level 2 or above preferred)
- Be patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Be able to work effectively as part of a wider school team

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
