Protocol Education is working closely with friendly primary schools across South Bristol to find caring, reliable and flexible Learning Support Staff who love supporting younger learners in their early school years. This includes Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, SEND support staff and intervention specialists who enjoy making a difference beyond the front of the classroom, especially through patience, encouragement and consistency.

You’ll be supporting children mainly across KS1, with some EYFS and KS2 where needed, working one-to-one or in small groups. Your role will focus on helping pupils feel safe, confident and settled in school, supporting early reading, phonics, number work and classroom routines, while encouraging positive behaviour and a love of learning.

Pay: ÂŁ89 to ÂŁ94 per day

A bit about you
  • Comfortable supporting children aged 4 to 7
  • Patient, calm and nurturing in the classroom
  • Friendly, approachable and reassuring for young learners
  • Happy to adapt and support where needed
  • Understanding of children’s needs, including additional and SEND needs
What we need to clear you
  • Passport
  • Two proofs of address, such as a driving licence, utility bill, council tax bill or P45/P60
  • CV covering the last 10 years of work or education, with any gaps explained
  • Two years of references, including childcare where applicable
  • OSPC if you’ve lived overseas for three months or more in the last five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
