Some children need extra support to help their school journey get off to the best possible start. A calm voice, a steady presence, and someone who understands that little wins matter. We’re working with a supportive primary school in Lawrence Weston looking for a Flexible Learning Partner to provide 1:1 support within their Reception class. This school supports a high number of pupils with complex SEND needs, so they’re looking for someone experienced, patient, and genuinely passionate about helping children feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. You’ll be joining a nurturing school community where support staff are valued and teamwork is a big part of everyday life. No two days will look exactly the same, but every day will matter.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support within the Reception classroom
  • Supporting a pupil with complex SEND needs throughout the school day
  • Helping with emotional regulation, communication, routines, and engagement in learning
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Creating a calm, consistent, and encouraging environment

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous SEND experience, ideally within EYFS or primary settings
  • Feels confident supporting children with complex needs
  • Brings patience, empathy, and a calm approach to challenging situations
  • Can adapt quickly and work closely with the wider school team
  • Is reliable, proactive, and ready to start ASAP

Due to the school’s location, driving is preferred. However, the school is accessible via both train and bus routes.

Essential requirements:

  • Enhanced child-only DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • References covering the last 24 months
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Overseas police checks required for any overseas stays longer than 3 months within the past 5 years
