Protocol Education are recruiting for Psychology Graduates/Students who are looking to build their experience of working with children/in schools. We are looking for passionate individuals who are wanting to build a career in working with children. We can offer full or part time and flexible days. As a Teaching Assistant you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of different schools and with children of different ages and abilities. You do not need any qualifications or experience but the drive and passion to make a difference to the lives of children. You will mostly be working alongside the class teacher to provide support to the children and in some cases on a 1:1 basis. The needs of the children can vary, and in some cases the children may have complex learning difficulties.
The role of a teaching assistant can be a challenging one so patience, a friendly approach and a good sense of humour are required, along with the skills to help the children learn and develop to the best of their abilities.
The Role:
- To work alongside the class teacher in supporting children with their learning
- To manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
- De-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered
- Carrying out small group work and working with children with additional needs
- Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school’s referral procedures and safeguarding policies.
