We’re looking for a caring and experienced Nursery Assistant to join a welcoming, school-based nursery in Bristol on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who genuinely loves supporting young children through those important early years, especially those who may need a little extra help to thrive. The nursery is part of a nurturing primary setting with a strong focus on inclusion, curiosity, and child-led learning. Outdoor play, creativity, communication, and emotional development all sit at the heart of the day.

Staff work closely together to create a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe, confident, and ready to explore the world around them. The team are especially passionate about supporting children with additional needs, so experience working with SEND is hugely valued in this role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting children aged 2–4 within the nursery setting
  • Encouraging learning through play and exploration
  • Supporting children with SEND, including communication and emotional regulation needs
  • Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment
  • Building strong relationships with children, staff, and families
  • Supporting routines, transitions, and day-to-day nursery activities

  • Experience working in a nursery, preschool, or Early Years setting
  • SEND experience is highly desirable
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Someone proactive who’s happy to jump into all parts of nursery life
  • Relevant childcare qualifications are welcomed, but experience and attitude matter most
