We’re working with a BS4 School to recruit an experienced Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time Post-16 cover role running from May until the end of the academic year. This is a timetable equivalent to a permanent teacher’s role and would suit someone confident delivering A Level Design & Technology (Design Engineering) who’s looking for a focused, short-term post in a well-regarded sixth form setting.

Pay: £130 - £145 for daily work, Pay to your M Scale for long term placements.

The school: The school is a modern, forward-thinking college with a strong reputation for inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning. Based on a purpose-built, university-style campus, the college offers a broad range of A Levels, BTECs and GCSEs, alongside excellent pastoral care and enrichment opportunities. The Design & Technology department is well-established and industry-facing, with courses designed to connect classroom learning to real-world engineering, creative and manufacturing pathways. Students are motivated, supported and preparing for higher education, apprenticeships or employment.

The role: You’ll be teaching OCR A Level Design & Technology: Design Engineering. The timetable is expected to include:

  • Teaching Year 12 and Year 13
  • Delivering planned lessons in line with the department curriculum
  • Supporting students with CAD skills
  • Running timetabled small-group subject support sessions
  • Occasional delivery of planned lessons within Product Design A Level or AAQ Engineering BTEC, where required

This is an ongoing cover role, likely until the end of July, offering continuity for students and a clear, structured timetable for the teacher.
