Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom? We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Leads / Heads of Year to work within secondary schools across Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced pastoral staff, teachers, Behaviour Support Assistants, youth workers, or individuals with a strong background in supporting young people.

The Role

As a Pastoral Lead / Head of Year, you will play a key role in promoting student wellbeing, attendance and achievement, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where every young person can succeed. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing pastoral support and guidance to students across a designated year group
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
  • Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations throughout the school
  • Monitoring attendance, punctuality and student welfare
  • Working closely with safeguarding, SEND and senior leadership teams
  • Leading interventions and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning
  • Upholding safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, pastoral or support setting
  • A calm, resilient and proactive approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
  • Strong organisational and behaviour management skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
