We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Leads / Heads of Year to work within secondary schools across Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced pastoral staff, teachers, Behaviour Support Assistants, youth workers, or individuals with a strong background in supporting young people.
The Role
As a Pastoral Lead / Head of Year, you will play a key role in promoting student wellbeing, attendance and achievement, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where every young person can succeed. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing pastoral support and guidance to students across a designated year group
- Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
- Supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Promoting positive behaviour and high expectations throughout the school
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality and student welfare
- Working closely with safeguarding, SEND and senior leadership teams
- Leading interventions and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning
- Upholding safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, pastoral or support setting
- A calm, resilient and proactive approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
- Strong organisational and behaviour management skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
