Key Responsibilities
- Adapt and deliver lessons/activities for individuals or small groups with SEN (autism, communication needs, physical/social/emotional difficulties).
- Assist teachers in planning, prepare resources, and develop specialist curriculum areas.
- Cover whole classes when teachers are absent, leading lessons independently.
- Lead and supervise other teaching assistants or manage a specialist resource base.
- Monitor pupil progress, record attainment, and discuss development with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Safeguard pupils, support emotional/social/physical well-being, manage routines, and help with transitions.
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, therapists, and parents to create a joined‑up support approach.

This role offers more autonomy and responsibility than a standard TA, bridging the gap between classroom support and teaching, especially for students with specific needs. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. This advert is for a temporary position.
