A welcoming and inclusive school in Kingston Upon Thames is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome behavioural challenges and achieve success both academically and personally. You will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them engage positively with their education and school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs.
- Assist pupils in managing their behaviour and developing positive coping strategies.
- Build strong and supportive relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement tailored behaviour support plans.
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs where required.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with behavioural needs is desirable.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
- Must hold a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
