Are you confident supporting children with challenging behaviour, autism and complex communication needs? Protocol Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate Behaviour & SEN Support Assistant to work in a specialist educational setting in Sunderland. You will support pupils who may display behaviours that challenge due to anxiety, sensory overload or communication difficulties.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils during emotional dysregulation
- Use de-escalation and behaviour support strategies
- Encourage communication and social interaction
- Promote independence and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teaching and therapy teams
We’re Looking For:
- Experience in SEND, SEMH, care or youth work
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Positive and consistent approach
- Team player with a caring nature

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
