Learning Support Assistant (Music Background Preferred) Bath

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with a background or strong interest in music to support pupils across school settings in Bath and North East Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to use their musical experience to engage and support young people, particularly those who benefit from a creative and relational approach to learning.

Whether you’ve studied music, performed, taught instruments, or simply have a passion for using music to connect with others, this role offers a chance to bring that experience into the classroom in a meaningful way.

The role

  • Supporting pupils in lessons, helping them access learning in a way that suits their individual needs
  • Using creativity and musical understanding to engage and motivate students
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support, including those with additional learning needs
  • Assisting teachers in delivering inclusive, accessible lessons
  • Encouraging confidence, participation, and positive behaviour through supportive relationships
  • Helping to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment

What we’re looking for

  • A background or strong interest in music (performance, study, or teaching experience is desirable)
  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential
  • A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • A willingness to support pupils with a range of learning needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
