About the Role
We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Barnsley.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop their independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
- Support children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties and learning needs.
- Help implement individual learning and support plans.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
- Support pupils during lessons, break times and other school activities.
- Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents and other professionals.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Follow school safeguarding and behaviour policies.
