About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, caring and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive school in Barnsley.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, personalised teaching to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their individual potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupils' needs.
- Support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
- Develop and implement personalised learning and support plans.
- Assess, monitor and record pupils' progress and development.
- Adapt teaching strategies, resources and activities to meet individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence, communication and independence.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, parents and external professionals.
- Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, progress meetings and other relevant assessments.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
About You
The ideal candidate will be
- A qualified teacher with
QTS or equivalent .
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEN.
- Patient, compassionate and understanding.
- Confident in adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Skilled in positive behaviour and classroom management.
- A strong communicator and effective team player.
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- SEN Experience
Experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, communication and interaction needs, learning difficulties, behavioural needs or other additional needs would be highly desirable.
Experience working with
EHCPs, individual education plans and personalised learning programmes is also advantageous.
