Teacher of Computing (Permanent) Secondary School – Barking
Start Date: April/September 2026 (or earlier by negotiation)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London), dependent on experience
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and forward-thinking Teacher of Computing to join our growing and supportive Computing department at a successful secondary school in Barking. This role is suitable for an ECT or an experienced teacher who is passionate about digital literacy, computer science, and preparing students for an increasingly technological world.
The Role
- Teach Computing across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available for suitable candidates)
- Deliver engaging lessons in areas such as programming, algorithms, data, and digital literacy
- Use assessment effectively to support progress and raise attainment
- Contribute to curriculum development within Computing and ICT
- Support students of all abilities to develop confidence and competence in technology
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Hold QTS (or be on track to achieve it)
- Have strong subject knowledge in Computing / Computer Science
- Experience or interest in programming languages (e.g. Python, Scratch) is desirable
- Be committed to high expectations, inclusion, and innovation in teaching
- Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to departmental improvement
