1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School | September 2025 Start

Daily Rate: £89.38 – £118 (depending on experience)

We are recruiting committed and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in primary schools throughout Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a child who requires extra support to reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, EAL, or behavioural needs

  • Work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies

  • Assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and emotional regulation

  • Help the pupil access the curriculum and engage positively with peers

  • Build a trusting and supportive relationship to encourage independence and confidence

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people (e.g. in schools, nurseries, care, or youth settings)

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Willingness to work closely with school staff, parents, and outside agencies

  • Knowledge of SEND, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH, is beneficial but not essential
