We’re working with several welcoming, community-driven primary schools in Lambeth that are looking for committed 1:1 Learning Support Assistants to join their teams. These roles focus on supporting individual pupils with additional needs - whether that’s helping with emotional regulation, learning routines, or boosting confidence in class. You’ll be a consistent, caring presence and a key part of their daily journey.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis in class and during transitions
- Using clear, kind communication to encourage participation
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and sometimes external specialists
- Helping create a safe, inclusive learning space for all pupils
- Keeping things calm, consistent, and fun—even when it’s a tricky day
You should have:
- Experience working with children or young people (in schools, care, youth work, etc.)
- A positive, patient approach with a good sense of humour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive mindset—you’re the type who gets stuck in
- Some understanding of SEND (training provided if not)
