A welcoming primary school in Barnet is currently recruiting a full-time 1:1 ASD Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Responsibilities
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD
- Supporting the student both inside and outside of the classroom
- Helping the pupil stay engaged with learning and daily routines
- Using positive behaviour management and communication strategies
- Supporting emotional regulation and social development
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents
- Creating a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people with ASD or additional needs
- A patient, calm, and caring approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to adapt learning and support to individual needs
- Previous experience within schools, care, youth work, or support work is desirable
