Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs?
Protocol Education is working with a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEND schools across Swindon, offering flexible, long-term and full-time opportunities with immediate starts available.
We are looking for caring, patient and resilient SEND Teaching Assistants who can provide high-quality support and help pupils develop their confidence, independence and learning.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
- Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, communication and interaction needs and other SEND.
- Help pupils access the curriculum and participate in learning activities.
- Implement individual learning, behaviour and support strategies.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and communication development.
- Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
- Assist teachers with classroom activities and preparation of resources.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months' relevant UK experience as a SEND TA, SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA or similar.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
- Understanding of individual learning and behavioural needs.
- Patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
- Reliable, professional and committed to pupil development.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
