Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm | Friday 8:30am - 3:00pm
Contract: Full-Time

We are currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a specialist educational setting in South Shields. This role involves supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to access education and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students both in and out of the classroom
- Building positive, professional relationships with pupils
- Encouraging engagement with learning activities
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and families
- Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate
- Confident, resilient, and approachable
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Experience in education, youth work, care, support work, coaching, or mentoring is desirable
- A driver with access to a vehicle would be advantageous
This role would suit individuals considering careers in teaching, counselling, social work, psychology, or youth support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
