Pay: Β£130-Β£250 per day, dependent on experience

A specialist SEND school in Newcastle is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to pupils with physical, medical and additional learning needs.

The successful candidate will play an important role in helping pupils overcome barriers, access the curriculum and develop greater independence.

Your Day-to-Day Role

  • Provide personalised support based on individual pupil needs.
  • Support learning, communication and engagement.
  • Assist with physical and medical requirements.
  • Adapt classroom resources and activities.
  • Support pupils using assistive technology.
  • Prepare and use specialist equipment safely.
  • Encourage independence and confidence.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships.
  • Work alongside teachers and specialist professionals.
  • Monitor progress and communicate observations effectively.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND.
  • Understanding of physical and/or medical needs.
  • Confident ICT skills.
  • Calm, patient and compassionate approach.
  • Flexible and willing to learn.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle - essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
