Are you a graduate who wants more than an office job?
A specialist SEND school in Newcastle is looking for an enthusiastic Graduate SEND Learning Mentor to join their team and support children and young people with additional needs.
You’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties, while developing skills that can take you towards a career in education, psychology or children's services.
Location: Newcastle
Pay: £92.63–£105 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-Term
Your Responsibilities
- Support pupils individually and in small groups
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help pupils develop communication and social skills
- Support learning and intervention activities
- Assist teachers with classroom-based learning
- Encourage confidence, independence and engagement
- Develop positive relationships with pupils
- Work closely with the SEND team
Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from graduates in:
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Criminology
- Childhood Studies
- Education
- Similar relevant subjects
You do not need previous SEND experience. A positive attitude, patience and genuine passion for helping young people are what matter most.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
