BSL Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education is recruiting a BSL Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist educational setting in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time Only
About the Role
You will work closely with deaf and hearing-impaired pupils, supporting communication, learning and social development throughout the school day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing classroom support using BSL
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with lesson delivery and learning activities
- Promoting inclusion and independence
- Supporting communication between pupils and staff
- Building positive relationships with learners
We're Looking For
- BSL qualification or strong signing experience
- Experience working with children or young people
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and supportive approach

- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
