PMLD Teaching Assistant - Gateshead
Location: Gateshead
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:45pm
Contract: Full-Time

A specialist school in Gateshead is seeking a nurturing PMLD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, helping them access a personalised and engaging curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with sensory-based learning activities
- Supporting communication and social interaction
- Providing personal care and mobility support where required
- Working alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and wellbeing
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Is patient, caring, and empathetic
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Is comfortable with personal care responsibilities
- Has experience in SEND, care, support work, or education (desirable)
- Holds a driving licence (advantageous)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
